Forget Me Not seeds from A.V. Ridout help local hospice

Sandra Hagger, Funeral Director at A.V. Ridout in Highcliffe-on-Sea, found a very apt use of the branch’s Forget Me Not seeds by donating them to a cream tea event organised by Oakhaven Hospice in Lymington.

A ‘Forget Me Not’ celebration tea was held on 7 May to officially launch the hospice’s 25th anniversary year and also coincided with the culmination of its campaign selling ceramic Forget Me Not flowers, in memory of lost loved ones, for display in their beautiful gardens.

Sandra said: “As a personal volunteer at Oakhaven Hospice, I was aware of their Forget Me Not campaign and event and I thought it would be a wonderful opportunity to offer our seeds to see if they could be of use.

“I was thrilled when they asked for 300 packets of them to use as gift favours on the tables – they looked really great!”

Events Fundraiser at Oakhaven Hospice, Melanie Stone said: “The cream tea was very busy and a huge success.

“We are so thankful to Sandra for thinking of us, it was a lovely touch to have the seeds as table favours and they brought lots of positive comments.”
